Celebrating Leadership: Tony Guzman Named ENR Midwest Top Young Professional

Cullen Construction Management is proud to announce that Project Executive Tony Guzman has been recognized as an ENR Midwest Top Young Professional, a prestigious honor awarded to industry leaders under 40 who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and service within the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors. Recipients are typically those redefining the industry through operational excellence, mentorship, community impact, and technological or process-driven innovation.

With more than 12 years of industry experience, Tony exemplifies what the future of construction leadership should be humble, hardworking, people-first, and driven by purpose. A first-generation college graduate from Cicero, IL, Tony earned his Civil Engineering degree from Northwestern University and has since built a career rooted in integrity, mentorship, and thoughtful leadership.

Joining Cullen CM as the fourth hire, Tony has supported the company's 11 year growth from a startup to a 30-person firm, a milestone achieved by only 30% of businesses. Today, Tony leads some of Cullen’s most complex national projects spanning student housing, senior living, affordable housing, community projects, and institutional work, earning the trust of clients in all market sectors.

Beyond project delivery, Tony continuously raises the bar across the organization. He co-leads the Continuous Improvement Committee, standardized estimating templates, refined document control, and facilitates all-hands meetings. His focus on technical development includes organizing lessons learned sessions, preconstruction strategies, and jobsite coordination practices that strengthen team capabilities. He is AEP Certified, OSHA 10-Hour trained, and fluent in Spanish, helping bridge communication across multicultural teams.

Outside Cullen CM, Tony is equally dedicated. He has served on the HACE Young Professionals Board and as Regional Director of Alumni Engagement for his fraternity, Omega Delta Phi, Inc.. His impact has earned him recognition, including Latino 40 Under 40 by Negocios Now (2023) and the Emerging Leader Award from the National Latino Education Institute (2021).

With this regional honor, Tony now advances to compete for ENR’s national 20 Under 40, with winners announced January 2026.
